These PCIe SSD models are designed to meet the needs for industrial control applications and embedded systems. The model m100 is a solid-state disk module that is designed to accommodate mini PCIe form factor and complies PCI Express interface signals. CoreSolid Storage solid-state disk module uses highly reliable SLC flash memory chip with extreme program/erase frequent cycle durability and perform long data retention which is must features for industrial embedded board customers.
Despite the size designed for limited embedded system space, model m100 has achieved high capacity 64GB memory with 85GB/sec R/W speed. With our innovative system design, we have outperformed not only industrial IDE/SATA DOM but also Compact Flash performances.

XMOS bases its technology on XCore, a compact, event-driven, multithreaded
processor. This 32-bit RISC processor supports as many as 8 threads and is
integrated with support resources into the XCore tile building block.
Multithreading permits concurrent processing of distinct functions, ranging from
I/O interfaces to complete software applications. With as much as 400 MIPS per
tile, the XCore engine has the performance to implement multiple complex
real-time hardware and software functions.

USB 2.0 to serial UART converter cables

Future Technology Devices International Limited (FTDI) unveiled the TTL-232RG
family of USB to TTL serial UART converter cables. The cables feature a USB to
serial converter PCB encapsulated within a standard type 'A' USB connector with
a wire-ended asynchronous UART output. A range of cables are available to for a
variety of voltage I/O levels including +1.8V, +3.3V, +5.0V or at user specified
levels, to provide UART interfacing to devices such as MCUs, CPUs or FPGAs at a
range of voltage levels.
Range of cables:
- TTL-232RG-VSW3V3-WE: USB cable with wire-ended +3.3V logic level UART connections and +3.3V / 50mA rated power output.
- TTL-232RG-VREG3V3-WE: USB cable with wire-ended +3.3V logic level UART connections and +3.3V / 250mA rated power output.

Atmel expands its maXTouch solutions to large screen applications
|

|
Atmel announced a multi-chip solution to enable capacitive multi-touch
functionality for large format touchscreens up to 15.6”. The maXTouch microcontroller family is extended with a chipset aimed at touchscreens for emerging consumer products including touch-enabled tablets, smartbooks, mobile internet devices (MIDs), netbooks and PC notebooks.
A master device coordinates the inputs and sensing data from several maXTouch MCUs to enable and merge the multi-touch functionality across different areas of a large touchscreen.
The 4-chip solution supports screen sizes from 8 to 15-inch, while screen sizes from 5 to 10.1-inch can be addressed by a 3-chip solution. Both solutions support stylus and up to 16 fingers with 9mm of finger-pinch separation, with a fast touch report rate in excess of 150Hz.

When to Use a Clock vs. an Oscillator

A wide range of timing solutions are available, including crystal oscillators
(XO), voltage-controlled crystal oscillators (VCXO), and clocks. No one size
fits all strategy applies when it comes to component selection. Picking the
right device for a particular application is dependent on a number of factors,
including whether or not the clocks must be synchronized to an externally
provided reference clock, the system architecture of the processor and high
speed serial data transmission ICs, and the frequency and jitter requirements of
the end application. In high performance applications, low jitter and low phase
noise are critical given that they have a direct impact on the bit-error rate in
high speed serial data transmission applications and the signal-to-noise ratio

optimized for lighting applications, which will further boost the increasingly
rapid growth of the LED lighting market. In the case of Acriche A4 Series Cool
White products, their luminous efficacy is maximized to 100lm/W. Acriche A6 (1
W) and A7 (4 W) series are LED products that can be applied to general lighting
fixtures in a variety of ways, and they are characterized by the fact that they
can be optimally designed by drastically reducing their size compared to the
existing Acriche products (18 X 12 mm).

Board-to-board 3-way springloaded connector used as a RF interface

Low profile 3-way spring-loaded connector with limited board spacing. This
connector is connecting to printed circuit boards with three 3.5mm height
spring-loaded contacts. Maximum stroke is 1.0mm. Product is supplied in tape and
reel packaging. The challenge was to replace a fragile stamped and formed coax
connector with a very low profile high-reliable connector and uses minimal
space.

DC filters for use in DC-side of inverter in Photovoltaic systems

Modern solar inverters, that use MPP (maximum power point) trackers, generate
disturbances into both the grid’s AC power line, as well as the DC side of the solar module.
An AC filter is normally used on the grid’s AC power line, but the noise generated on the DC side tends to be overlooked. EMC standards EN 61000-6-3 and EN55014-1, however, also put limits on the noise generated from lines not connected to the grid, such as for example the line to the solar panels. Meeting these limits can be achieved by using a DC filter on the DC side of the inverter.

DIN41612 connectors for reflow soldering from EPT

The press-fit and solder connectors of the connector manufacturer ept have
been supplemented by a reflow solder version of the type C male connector
(according to DIN 41612 / IEC 60603-2). This male connector in THTR technique
(Through Hole Technology Reflow) uses a high temperature resistant plastic to
fulfill the requirements of J-STD-020D (Moisture/Reflow Sensitivity
Classification for Nonhermetic Solid State Surface Mount Devices). The
connectors are designed for lead free reflow solder process with peak
temperatures up to 260°C.
DIN connectors are used in various applications with different termination methods. The DIN type C connectors are also available in press-fit technology or other solder technology.

COTEK DN Series of DIN rail-mountpower supplies comprising 10, 20, 40, 60 and
100 Watt single output models, offer efficiency levels of 83~88 %. The series
can accept a universal input range from 88 VAC to 264 VAC and provides the
output voltage variants of 12, 15, 24 and 48 VDC. Capable of operating over a
wide range of temperatures from -20 degrees C, the DN series can provide full
power output to +50 degrees and with derating to +70 degrees C. The DN supplies are approved to EN60950-1 for ITE and UL508 for industrial applications.
