The Si4010 RF transmitter is the industry’s first single-chip remote control IC requiring only one external bypass capacitor, a printed circuit board, battery and external case with pushbuttons to create a complete wireless remote control. Based on a patented crystal-less architecture, the Si4010 achieves ±150 ppm carrier frequency accuracy over the commercial temperature range and ±250 ppm over the industrial temperature range – twice the accuracy of traditional surface acoustical wave (SAW)-based transmitters – without using an external crystal.

NVE Introduces World’s Smallest Isolated CAN Transceiver

NVE announced an expansion of the IsoLoop IL41050TE isolated Controller Area
Network (CAN) transceiver family with the introduction of the 16-pin narrow-body
SOIC IL41050T-3E.
In both package versions, transceiver and isolation functions are integrated in a single device with improved performance and reduced chip count compared to discrete transceivers and traditional optocouplers. IL41050T transceivers fully comply with the ISO 11898 CAN standard and de facto industry standards, and provides an isolated interface to 3 V or5 V microcontrollers.
Designed for harsh CAN and DeviceNet environments, IL41050T transceivers have a –55°C to 125°C operating range, transmit data dominant time-out, bus pin transient protection, thermal shutdown protection, short-circuit protection, 2500 V isolation, and typical transient immunity of 30 kV/µs. Unique edge-triggered inputs improve noise performance. The parts are UL 1577 and IEC 61010-2001 approved. Unlike optocouplers or other isolation technologies, IsoLoop isolators have indefinite life at high voltage.

SR10 Meets Low Power Standby Requirements in “Always On” Applications
The SR10 is a capacitor-coupled, switched shunt regulator for direct AC line operation. Its standby power consumption is very low, making it ideal for “always on” standby applications like utility meters, audio/video, or white goods. The IC operates at high efficiency while requiring no magnetic components or high voltage electrolytic capacitors. Its output can be internally programmed at 6V, 12V or 24V, or can be externally adjusted with a feedback divider from 6V to 28V. Output current can be scaled via a safety-rated, series coupling capacitor on the AC line. Typical standby power consumption is less than 20mW. The SR10 also uses the safety-rated, high voltage capacitor to meet voltage safety standards for the load. The SR10 solution also meets class B limits for conducted emission.

Torex Introduces New Transient Voltage Suppressor

Torex has developed a transient voltage suppressor for the protection of
electronic devices from static electricity.
Two types are available to match the application: the two-element XBP06V4E2HR-G and the four-element XBP06V4E4GR-G. Both types are able to withstand an 8kV discharge (based on IEC61000-4-2). Leakage current is a maximum of 1.0µA (at VRM = 5V). Packages are the USP-3 (XBP06V4E2HR-G) and the USP-4 (XBP06V4E4GR-G). The use of these small packages makes this product well suited for portable communication devices, which are becoming increasingly smaller and lighter.
The XBP06V4E2HR-G & XBP06V4E4GR-G features include: peak pulse power of 70W@ tp = 8/20µs; leakage current of 1.0µA max. @VRM =5V; housed in small packages: USP-3 (1.2 x 1.2 x h0.6mm) or USP-4 (1.2 x 1.6 x h0.6mm).

AMIC released two new NOR Flash devices, the A29801 and the A29160. The new additions to AMIC’s large 5 Volts NOR Flash product family is offering full compatibility with the leading industry A29 series. Not only the package but also pin-out, the functionality, sector size and the device ID codes are all in compliance with the industry standard.
The A29801 is offering 8Mb, the A29160 16Mb. The orientation is either x16 or x8 bits. Top and bottom boot block versions are available in 48pin TSOP, 44pin SOP and in 48ball TFBGA package options. The availability in commercial temp range has started. Versions in 55ns access time and industrial temp range are following in the months to come.

The device is a complete baseband modem system delivering high performance
and high spectral efficiency QAM for narrowband applications. These include M2M
systems over dedicated channels, digital Software Defined Radio (SDR),
high-speed wireless data and SCADA systems.
The half-duplex device, which is suitable for 6.25kHz, 12.5kHz and 25kHz bandwidths, operates up to 96kbps in 25kHz bandwidths, featuring channel estimation and equalization.
The device is suitable for interfacing to superheterodyne receivers (e.g. CMX992) or direct conversion designs (e.g. CMX994) providing performance compatible with stringent regulatory standards such as EN 301 166, EN 300 113 and EN 302 561. The transmitter interface is compatible with the proven CML Cartesian loop technology (CMX998).

in evaluating and validating the AL460A HD-FIFO chip for use as a high speed
memory buffer in HD video applications. Each module has two embedded AL460 HD-FIFO chips operating in parallel, expanding the bus width to 32-bits. Control signals and data bus signals are available on two 50-pin connectors. Like other members of the F9xx MCU family, Silicon Labs’ new ultra-low-power F99x and F98x MCUs offer the industry’s lowest power consumption in active mode, sleep mode and deep sleep mode. In addition to consuming the lowest current per MHz, a common industry specification, the new MCUs contain an integrated low drop-out (LDO) regulator that keeps the current constant at 150 microamps per MHz over the entire operating range of 1.8 to 3.6 V. The on-chip LDO regulator helps reduce the MCU’s drain on the battery by 50 percent compared to competing products, which extends battery life and makes the ultra-low-power F99x and F98x MCUs ideal for battery-powered applications.

Watt (8x20µs) series of devices are ideally suited for transient protection of high frequency data lines and signal interfaces. Typical applications include data communication interfaces such as Gigabit Ethernet, USB, RS-485, FireWire and SCSI.
Designed to protect against the transient environments of IEC 61000-4-2(ESD) and 61000-4-4(EFT), all devices are tested up to 25 kilovolts ESD contact discharge. At higher operating frequencies or faster edge rates, insertion loss and signal integrity are a major concern. The USB0508 series has a 3pF capacitance per I/O measured to ground. This series in conjunction with passive components integrated into a TVS/filter network can be used for EMI/RFI protection. Packaged in the SOIC-8 plastic case, this device should be placed near a connector or a sensitive IC component.
